What to expect as a Student
We keep class sizes small to ensure individual attention and a personal approach. There is continual assessment and regular one-to-one tutorials to ensure that you are supported along the way.
Emphasis is placed on practitioner self-care and effective body dynamics, protecting your health so you can forge a successful, productive and sustainable career.
We firmly believe that complementary therapies are most effective when integrated into a client’s health care plan – not accessed as an add-on or alternative to conventional medicine. So we aim to prepare you to become a competent member in a multidisciplinary healthcare team. We will help you to appreciate the advantages and limitations of that role and to understand the practices and protocols that it requires, so you can contribute your unique skills to that team with confidence.
Success depends on you taking charge of your own learning. Be prepared to spend time on reading, researching and practicing your skills. If you are studying to achieve a Diploma or to gain QCF points, you will need to produce written assignments to ITEC’s specifications. The content is academically rigorous, but tutors will help you to identify your individual learning needs and fully support you.
The tutors are passionate about their subject, and you’ll find their enthusiasm is infectious in learning sessions which are dynamic, thought-provoking and most of all, fun!
